Ensuite

Symphony orchestra Ensuite emenates from the string ensemble "Ma non Troppo" and in the summer of 2002 it has become an association of ESMG Quadrivium.
Ensuite currently has about 25 members, but that number is still increasing every year.

Ensuite is a small symphony orchestra that has the ambition to grow. This means that the orchestra consists of both strings, wood and brass instruments and percussion. Of course, the strength can differ depending on which piece is played. If needed the the orchestra can be supplemented with guest musicians.

Repertoire

Ensuite plays symphonic works and chamber pieces from different style periods. Pieces of composers including Bach, Debussy, Dvorak, Grieg, Mozart, Mussorgsky, Ravel and Pachelbel have been played during these last years. Ensuite also plays less traditional music, for example in 2006, when a jazz concert was given.
In 2008, the Requiem and the Magnificat by John Rutter were performed together with a large choir. In 2009 a big concert named 'Peer Gynt, een man op zoek' was performed which had the theme program music. In 2010 a project concert will be given in the theme of dance.

Conductor

Ghislain Bellefroid is the conductor of Ensuite. Ghislain studied clarinet at the Rotterdam Conservatory and the Sweelinck Conservatory. This is where he obtained his qualifications for teaching and performing musician. During his studies he won several national and international prizes. In 1991 he has won the competition of the Foundation "Jong Muziektalent Nederland".
In addition to clarinet, he also graduated second phase 'HaFa conducting' under guidance of Jan Cober and Gert Buitenhuis.

Ghislain also is the conductor of the orchestra OBK Bennekom and he conducts his own professional ensemble "A Piacere". This ensemble plays on a project basis and consists of musicians from various professional orchestras, including the Dutch "Radio Philharmonisch Orkest" and "Het Gelders Orkest".

Rehearsals

The symphony orchestra rehearses on a weekly basis on Wednesday from 19.15h untill about 22.15h. The rehearsals take place in the 'grote muziekzaal' in the Bunker. Ensuite is still searching for reinforcement of strings, brass and percussion. If you are interested you are welcome to visit one of our rehearsals.
