Quadrivium invites you to join our SQratch on May 7th. A SQratch is a day in which a group of musicians try to study a complete piece of music in one day, and then end the day with a performance of that piece.
The piece we are going to rehearse is Giacomo Puccini’s Messa di Gloria. Puccini, mainly known for operas such as Madama Butterfly and Tosca, wrote this mass as a graduation project. Although he had not yet started the operas that would later make him so famous, this Messa already shows the direction his career would take. The drama splashes in every part in its own way.
When you register you will receive the sheet music in advance. On the day itself you will study the entire piece together with all other participants on the TU/e campus. Whether you have years of singing experience or are a complete beginner, this sQratch promises to be a fun day for every participant.
The day ends with a performance of the work with organ accompaniment. This concert will take place in the Catharinakerk in Eindhoven with free entrance so that as many people as possible can enjoy the hard work.
