Nederlands Besides the orchestras, some small groups of musicians have come together to play in an ensemble. These ensembles usually consist of about 4-7 members. Once a year, ensembles have the opportunity to perform at an ensemble concert. Below you can read more about the specific quadrivium ensembles.
If you want to lighten up your event with just a touch of classical music, ESMG Quadrivium has the solution for you. Our several ensembles are available for hire for conferences, receptions, parties and anything else that requires beautiful music to be played. Email to ensembles@esmgquadrivium.nl to see if we can do anything for you. Please report an event at least one month in advance due to the availability of our ensembles.
BaroQue
The BaroQue ensemble is Quadrivium’s ensemble that is specialized in playing and performing baroque music. The ensemble was formed when different players in the orchestra realized they had a common interest to play baroque music. The baroque ensemble consists of a core group of players however, often guest players are invited to play along for a concert since often extra instruments are required to play the baroque style pieces. Previous performances included works by Rebel, Telemann and Dall’Abaco.
Hok2
Hok2 is Quadriviums one and only wind quintet; an ensemble consisting of five different wind instruments: flute, oboe, French horn, bassoon and clarinet. There are many possibilities with this classical ensemble and therefore we play a mix of quintet music and arrangements of other (popular) music. The name Hok2 originated from the love-hate relationship we have with our rehearsal room, where we regularly rehearse, but we are increasingly leaving our natural habitat to show what we do. We play on several locations and occasions such as in homes for elderly, gala’s, and conferences and we hope to add some other great performances to this list. You should come and listen soon!
Qhords
Hello! We are the Qhords, one of the vocal ensembles of ESMG Quadrivium. Our ensemble consists of four musicians, Winston (B), Django (T), Katrien (A/mS) and Jeannette (S). We started out as a whimsical experiment to see what close harmony would sound like with two men and two women. We liked it so much that we decided to name ourselves after the singers of Sh Boom: The Chords, but with the trademark Q. Ever since, we have been broadening our horizons beyond close harmony and we do not shy away from instrumental musical either. We hope we can share our joy in making music with you one day!
Vokoladies
De Vokoladies is een vocaal damesensemble dat bestaat uit vijf verschillende stemmen. Het ensemble trad voor het eerst op op een ensembledag georganiseerd door ESMG Quadrivium, waar ze verschillende stukken zongen van the Chordettes. Het ensemble had zo van het optreden genoten dat ze sindsdien nog steeds samen repeteren en daarmee hun steeds meer variërende repertoire uitbreiden. De Vokoladies treden ook vaak op op de muzikale open podia die georganiseerd worden door ESMG Quadrivium.
